Transportation Advisory Committee
Purpose and Duties
The Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) serves as the bridge between the City of Belmont and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). TAC provides a forum for discussion of local and regional transportation issues (safety, congestion, modal balance, bicycle/pedestrian issues). The TAC is able to coordinate with NCDOT district staff to ensure consistency of policy/priorities and assist in any project development.

The Transportation Advisory Committee meets quarterly with NCDOT district staff.
Application
If you would like to apply to be appointed to the City of Belmont Transportation Advisory Committee, please fill out an application, which is available here. The two (2) Belmont resident members are appointed by the Belmont City Council and serve three-year staggered terms. To be considered for appointment to the Transportation Advisory Committee, applicants must live within the incorporated city limits of the City of Belmont. Applicants will be interviewed and appointed by the Belmont City Council.
