City Manager

Miles Braswell has over 22 years of local and state government experience, previously employed at the City of Charlotte, Gaston County Schools, and the City of Mount Holly.  While employed for the City of Mount Holly he began his tenure in 2014 in the administration department, was promoted to Assistant City Manager in 2016, and then appointed City Manager in 2020.

Miles is a Belmont native and has spent most of his life living and working in Gaston County.  Miles graduated from South Point High School and attended North Carolina State University, where he graduated in 1998.

Miles is a member of the International City/County Management Association and is an ICMA-CM candidate, holds a Municipal and County Administration (MCA) certificate from UNC – Chapel Hill, School of Government, is a Fellow in the Leading for Results program at UNC, Chapel Hill – School of Government, attended Gaston Together’s Civic Engagement Leadership (CEL) program and is the immediate past-president of the Mount Holly Rotary Club.

He is married to his wife Erin and they have three children – Mason, Reese, and Riley and is a member of South Point Baptist Church.
