Text Amendment 2022.05

Request: a request to amend various chapters of the Land Development Code (LDC) to eliminate the apartment building form in most zoning districts.

Background: The city council has directed staff to prepare this amendment, which would prohibit the use of the “apartment building” form in all areas of the city except the Wilkinson Boulevard corridor (HC zoning district) and the Institutional Campus Development (IC-D) zoning district.

Project Status:

• Planning Board meeting - November and December public meeting.  The board voted unanimously to recommend disapproval of the proposed text amendment.
• City Council Public Meeting - Scheduled for January 9, 2023.
