Ways To Help Our Community

Keep Lights On

  • Donate food to a family in need or to a local non-profit
  • Give Blood - there is a massive blood shortage because so many blood drives have been cancelled.  You can still give blood through your local United Way agency and other local blood banks
    • One Blood Gastonia Center - Open Daily
      Check Oneblood Website

      For Appointment Times
2524 East Franklin Blvd, Suite E
      Gastonia, NC 28056

To find out more information or dates for blood drives in our area please visit OneBlood's website: https://www.oneblood.org/donate-now/

  • Support local businesses – we all love the charm of our city and our local businesses are a huge part of what makes up that charm.  These businesses need your help.  Buy a gift card to use on something later at one of the retailers in downtown, order food to-go from one of our restaurants (make sure to leave an extra tip), choose to pick-up or have your food delivered when available to reduce exposure, or buy your family pet some extra treats.
  • Encourage others to follow restrictions so everyone can get back to normal life as soon as possible
  • Wash your hands frequently to help to the spread of this virus
  • Offer to shop for an “at risk” person in our community
  • Offer to cook a meal for a family in need
  • Ask the medical and public safety professionals you know (nurses, doctors, police officers, fire fighters, etc.) what you can do to help them as they continue to put themselves at risk to help our community
