The Belmont Parks and recreation Department strives to provide recreational and leisure opportunities to the citizens of Belmont of all ages. This may be offered in instructional classes such as tap, ballet, jazz, and shag dance or exercise classes such as Yoga, or senior citizens exercises. There is also an active senior citizens group, the Belmont Gad –About who have an activity every week.

The BPRD also has many athletic opportunities for youth ages 3 to 15 in basketball, baseball, golf, soccer, fast pitch softball, tennis, and volleyball. Many special events or the whole community are provided by the Parks and Recreation Department such as the festivals in the spring and fall, Concert in the Park series every Saturday night in June, Movie in the Park every Saturday night in July.
