The City of Belmont would like to convert the inactive railroad tracks that run along North Main Street from Belmont Abbey College to downtown Belmont into a pedestrian and bicycle trail. The City is currently conducting a feasibility study for this project to determine if it is possible and where the trail should be located relative to the railroad tracks (on them, to the east of them, or to the west of them).
