Downtown Sidewalk Improvements

The City of Belmont has approved several small sidewalk improvements around the downtown area. A sidewalk is being added along McLeod Street to connect the sidewalk in front of the Hawthorne neighborhood to South Main Street. This sidewalk segment was a top priority of the newly adopted Belmont Pedestrian Transportation Plan.

Other areas of sidewalk will be added or repaired around downtown as part of this project. Please be aware of the sidewalk construction crews when walking or driving around downtown over the next few weeks.

These improvements are being paid for by a payment-in-lieu of sidewalk from the Lakepoint subdivision on Lower Armstrong Road.
