The City of Belmont will join thousands of towns across the world in celebrating International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. It will be Belmont's third year celebrating this event and the second year that we will hold a celebration after school in Davis Park. We are pleased to announce that Sir Purr from the Carolina Panthers will join us for the celebration, which lasts from 3-4:30 pm.

Thanks to a Fit Community grant that the City received, we will have music, games, healthy snacks, and Zumba for everyone to enjoy. This celebration is targeted to students at Belmont Central Elementary and Belmont Middle Schools who will be able to walk on the new sidewalks and crosswalks that the grant provided, but anyone from the community is welcome to join us!
