The Belmont Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide recreational and leisure opportunities to the citizens of Belmont of all ages. The Parks and Recreation Department offices are located at the J. Paul Ford Recreation Center at 37 East Woodrow Avenue, Belmont, NC.

NEW Classes starting in January 2015:

Gymnastics: Starting Monday, Feb. 2, classes open to boys and girls ages 2 & up and include tumbling, balance beam, bars & trampoline. This 45-minute long class once a week is only $35 per month with a $15 registration fee. Choices of class time: For ages 2-4: Monday 11:45-12:30pm or Thursday 11:45am-12:30pm. For ages 5-6: Monday 3:30-4:15pm. Space is limited. CLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION FORM.

Bricks 4 Kidz (Legos): Starting Feb. 5, Thursdays 3:30-4:30pm. $100/eight week session for Grades K- 5.

Shag: Beginner and Intermediate for ages 21 years and up. Instructor: Kay Bolden and Ron Teague. Starting Mondays (Jan. 12) at 7:00pm and 8:00pm. Partners are not necessary. This 6-week program costs either $10/class per person, or save yourself some money and pay up front $50 for the whole session.

 Guitar: Beginner and Intermediate for ages 12 years and up to learn basic chords and notes. 10-week course from January to March for $125.

Martial Arts, Thursdays 6:30pm, $30/month (family discounts)

East Coast Swing, dance class, Tuesdays 7:00pm, $40/session

Fit 4 You, individual fitness, Tuesday and Thursday, $15/class

Tap, Ballet, Jazz dance, Wednesdays, prices varies

Genealogy Class: Tuesdays 1:00-3:00pm, free

Litl' Bit Crafty: Monday and Thursday, 1:00-3:00pm

Crafty Cards: 4th Friday 10am-1pm, price varies

New Soccer Park: Everette C. "Ebb" Gantt Park

Minimize

Construction on Gantt Park is not fully complete even though the bermuda grass is growing . We expect to play soccer there the spring of 2015. The park amenities include two full size soccer fields, 1/2 mile paved walking trail, playground, picnic shelter, and restrooms.
