The Belmont Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide recreational and leisure opportunities to the citizens of Belmont of all ages. Many classes are offered at the J. Paul Ford Recreation Center at 37 East Woodrow Avenue.  
Center Hours: 
Mon.-Thur. - 8:30am-7:00pm 
Fri. -  8:30am-5:00pm
Sat.-  9:30am-1:00pm.

The department has many athletic opportunities for youth ages 3 to 15 in basketball, baseball, golf, soccer, fast pitch softball, tennis, and volleyball. Some of the special events that the department offers include the Flashlight Easter Egg Hunts, the spring festival in May (GaribaldiFest), the fall festival in October (Belmont Fall Festival), and the Halloween Bash.

There is also an active senior citizens group, the Belmont Gad–Abouts, who have an activity every week. In addition, the department provides exercise classes for senior adults: Senior Stretch, Senior Line Dance, and Water Exercise- Aquaducks.
